Definition of Interrogatories

Definition:

A form of discovery in which a party to a lawsuit sends written questions to another party for the latter to answer in writing under oath for the purpose of identifying potential witnesses, evidence and facts relevant to the lawsuit.

Also Known As: Discovery requests, questions.

Examples: Plaintiff’s counsel drafted a second set of interrogatories to be served on the defendant.
