Why did you become a lawyer?

As I initially neglected my studies, I could not pursue other courses and felt that I could be a good lawyer if I pursued law. The Supreme Court justices and the advocates in India inspired me to become a lawyer. I pursued my courses sincerely and I had the privilege of learning under the guidance of committed teachers and studying in a college where the management is committed to quality education. I enjoyed my law school days, the debates and the discussions.

Do you enjoy practicing law? Why or why not?

I enjoy practicing law as it helped me receive recognition very early in life that could not have been possible if I pursued other professions. An advocate will keep learning as he masters many issues. This exposure to new things and challenges in the profession encourages me and keeps going.

Advice

  • Don't neglect the subject and make full of use of your courses. Learn as much as you can in college and think about the logic behind legal provisions. It helps you make logically sound arguments and a logical mind is the basis for a successful practitioner.
  • Have a great commitment to your chosen path and be determined to succeed. Determination will help you find ways to succeed early in the profession despite the inevitable difficulties in the profession.
  • Be prepared to work hard and try to get as much exposure as you can within the shortest possible time.

What do you like most about working as a lawyer?

I enjoy practicing law. Lawyers can enjoy great freedom and rewards if one has the patience to overcome initial inevitable difficulties. The legal profession also presents a professional with the opportunity to communicate with various people and learn about the realities of society.
